Caetano e Bethânia fazem história com Grammy de Melhor Álbum de Música Global
Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethânia make history by winning the category Best Global Music Album at the 2026 Grammy Awards, alongside their album “Caetano and Bethânia Live”, the result of their successful tour. The album, recorded live and with a unique repertoire, was chosen by the jury of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States, in a ceremony at the Crypto.com Arena, in Los Angeles, United States. The result was announced on Sunday, February 1st, 2026. Caetano and Bethânia stood out alongside other big international names, such as Burna Boy, Youssou N’Dour, Shakti and Anoushka Shankar Featuring Alam Khan & Sarathy Korwar.
The Caetano and Bethânia Live project was conceived as a tribute to the repertoire shared by both throughout their careers. With a more intimate and repertoire-focused format, the show revisited songs that made history and helped define Brazilian popular music over the past few decades. The album features a variety of styles, from samba to tropicalism, and presents some of Caetano and Bethânia’s greatest songs, such as “Cálice”, “Nanã” and “Tropicália”. The collaboration between the two siblings was an inspiration to the audience and to the other musicians involved in the project, such as Alam Khan, who plays the rabab, and Sarathy Korwar, who participates as a drummer.
The Caetano and Bethânia Live tour is scheduled for São Paulo throughout February 2026. With shows scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, the city will witness a unique and exciting experience, where the audience can appreciate the chemistry and magic that the two siblings create together. The tour is the continuation of a success story that began years ago, when the two siblings started performing tours together. And now, after winning the Grammy, they are giving a show of skill and art that will be a memorable reminder forever.
