Motociclista de 46 anos morre em acidente com carro hoje na SP-332 em Campinas
A 46-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Claudinei Barbosa da Silva, died after an accident with a car on Professor Zeferino Vaz Highway (SP-332), in Campinas, interior of São Paulo, on Friday night (19/12). The victim was an employee of the Municipal Development Company of Campinas (Emdec) for four years and worked in the Semaphora Team, acting in traffic management. The driver of the vehicle, a Renault Clio, fled after hitting the victim. Claudinei leaves a wife and three children.
According to information from the São Paulo State Public Services Regulatory Agency (Artesp), the driver of the car was traveling northbound when, at km 118, collided with the rear of the motorcycle, which suffered a rollover and stopped on lane 1 of the road. The vehicle’s license plate remained at the accident scene, allowing the car to be identified. Lane 1 and the highway shoulder were closed from 11:50 PM to 2:30 AM, approximately, to attend to the accident. The victim’s body was taken by the funeral home and the motorcycle was removed to the yard.
The victim was rescued and cardiopulmonary resuscitation was started around 00:00, but death was confirmed ten minutes later. The Semaphora Team of Emdec is responsible for acting in traffic management in Campinas, performing maintenance and repair services of traffic lights and other traffic equipment. Emdec is a municipal company that works on urban development and traffic management in the city.
The accident occurred on a highway that is an important access route to the city of Campinas. Artesp is responsible for regulating and supervising the delegated public transportation services in the State of São Paulo. The company informed that the accident is being investigated.
