The American group Fishbone returns to the city of São Paulo with a highly anticipated show at Fabrique Club on October 31st. The band is known for its fusion of styles such as punk, ska, and social criticism, characteristics that have made it a reference for different generations of alternative rock. With over 20 years without releasing a complete album of unreleased tracks, Fishbone presents to the Brazilian public songs from its new album “Stockholm Syndrome” (2025), which mixes elements loaded with funk, ska-inspired metals, aggressive guitars, and lyrics focused on social and racial issues. The show will be opened by the São Paulo band Maga Rude, and tickets are already on sale through the Fastix platform.
A Trajectory of Intensity and Experimentation
The Fishbone’s trajectory is marked by political intensity, sonic experimentation, and explosive live performances. The band was formed in Los Angeles in the late 1970s and built a unique career that not only influenced the American underground scene but also generated a legion of passionate fans around the world. With the release of “Stockholm Syndrome”, Fishbone reinforces elements that have always accompanied the band, such as funk-loaded grooves, ska-inspired metals, aggressive guitars, and lyrics focused on social and racial issues. In addition, the album features special collaborations, such as the participation of George Clinton, a historical name from Parliament-Funkadelic, on one of the tracks. The band also doesn’t shy away from its social criticism, as can be seen in the lyrics of tracks like “Racist Piece of Shit”, which “is a warning for humanity to recognize the breaking point that’s tearing apart the soul of this country and the world”, according to Christopher Dowd, a member of the band.
The show in São Paulo promises to be a unique experience, with the band revisiting different moments of its career, including iconic tracks like “Party at Ground Zero“, “Everyday Sunshine“, “Sunless Saturday“, “Fight the Youth“, and “Servitude“. The presentation will also feature the opening act of the São Paulo band Maga Rude. If you’re looking for a night of intense and authentic music with a band that’s not afraid to take a stand and express itself, then don’t miss the Fishbone show at Fabrique Club in October.
