In August, the Haitian-Canadian producer and DJ KAYTRANADA returns to Brazil with his shows in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, on the “Ain’t No Damn Way!” tour. Tickets are on sale as of this Thursday, 28, at 1 pm through Sympla, starting at R$ 150 (half-price). Also in August, KAYTRANADA will perform at Komplexo Tempo in São Paulo and at Armazém Utopia in Rio de Janeiro. Both nights will take place from 10 pm to 6 am, with support from Deekapz, VHOOR, Marta Supernova, and the duo Aisha B2B Yaminah.
Producer and DJ KAYTRANADA has a rich history in electronic music. Born in Haiti and raised in Montreal, Louis Kevin Celestin started producing music in his adolescence and achieved international recognition in 2012 with a remix of Janet Jackson’s “If”. After a career that took him to open for Madonna in the US and release successful albums, KAYTRANADA became one of the most innovative voices in contemporary electronic music. Recently, he won the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Dance Recording with “10%” from his album BUBBA, which featured Kali Uchis, Pharrell Williams, Tinashe, and other music names. His production is recognized for blending elements of club culture, hip hop, R&B, and pop to create a unique atmosphere.
KAYTRANADA stands out for his ability to create sounds that resonate with the Brazilian public. On his tour, he promises to present new songs from the album “Ain’t No Damn Way!”, in addition to his already known successful tracks. “There is a very strong connection between KAYTRANADA and the Brazilian public, something that was evident in previous experiences,” says Pedro Seiler, director of Queremos!, who organized two previous shows by the producer at Circo Voador and Parque Bar. The show dates include: August 14 in São Paulo (at Komplexo Tempo) and August 15 in Rio de Janeiro (at Armazém Utopia).
