Deolane Bezerra, a lawyer and influencer, was recently arrested on suspicion of money laundering for the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC). The arrest was the result of Operation Vérnix, which aimed to dismantle a money laundering network linked to the criminal faction. With three children, Giliard, 22, Kayky, 19, and Valentina, 9, Deolane is a public figure who has sought to keep her personal life out of the spotlight, especially when it comes to her children’s fathers.
Family and Children
Giliard Bezerra, Deolane’s eldest child, was adopted by her in 2004, when she was just 16 years old. He was 1 year and 7 months old at the time. Deolane said she only started the process of legally adopting the boy in 2022, when he was 18 years old, because “she was afraid the judge would take him” away from her. Giliard was found alone in a house, next to a restaurant that Deolane’s mother owned, and she took care of him until his parents arrived. During Operation Vérnix, the Justice authorized a search warrant at the residence where Giliard lives in São Paulo, and the Civil Police found bank transactions incompatible with the young man’s income.
Kayky Bezerra, the middle child, was born when Deolane was still in her first year of law school. He is the son of Francisco Alberto Teixeira de Sousa, who was arrested in flagrante delicto in 2016 for criminal association and illegal possession of a firearm. Deolane and her sister, Daniele Bezerra, were listed as lawyers for the criminal in the police report registered at the time. Deolane’s relationship with Kayky’s father appears to have been professional and also personal, as Deolane acted as Francisco’s lawyer.
In addition to Giliard and Kayky, Deolane is also the mother of Valentina, who will turn 10 years old on the 30th of next month. Last year, the youngest child had a luxurious birthday party and appeared at the event holding hands with her parents. The man who appears in the recording next to Valentina is Diogenes Gomes Barros, pointed out by the Civil Police as a member of the PCC and who was Deolane’s lawyer in a process moved against him for theft. The connection between Deolane and Diogenes is another point being investigated by the police, who believe she helped launder money for the PCC.
