Drake Makes History on the Charts!
Drake is making history on the charts! The rapper’s new trilogy of albums, titled Iceman, Habibti and Maid of Honour, conquered the top three spots on the latest Billboard 200. This is an incredible feat, as Drake has become the first artist to simultaneously occupy the first, second, and third places. Additionally, this achievement also puts him tied with Taylor Swift as the solo artist with the most number one albums on the Billboard 200.
The trilogy of albums is comprised of Iceman, which led the chart with 463,000 album equivalent units, Habibti, which came in second with 114,000 album equivalent units, and Maid of Honour, which came in third with 110,000 album equivalent units. All three albums were only available in digital format and do not have a physical release planned until further notice. Furthermore, Iceman surpassed the first-week sales of Drake’s previous album, For All the Dogs, which debuted at number one with 402,000 album equivalent units.
The album trilogy also marked a record for Drake, as he surpassed Future as the rapper with the most albums in the Top 10. Additionally, this achievement also puts Drake tied with Taylor Swift as the solo artist with the most number one albums on the Billboard 200. This is an incredible feat, as the Beatles still lead with 19 number one albums. Drake’s story of success is an inspiring example for the many artists who dream of reaching the top of the music industry. Additionally, the trilogy’s album achievement also highlights the importance of diversification and innovation in the music industry.
