Shooting in Traffic Dispute Leaves Woman Injured in Santo André
In a traffic dispute on Atibaia Street, in the Jardim Stella neighborhood, in Santo André, in the ABC Paulista region, a 29-year-old man was arrested after shooting at a car carrying a man, a woman, and two children. The woman was shot and had to be rescued. The incident occurred during the afternoon of last Friday (29/5) and the shooter was found by the police and arrested in flagrante for attempted homicide and firearm discharge. A pistol was seized from him, suggesting that the police were able to recover the weapon used in the shooting.
The case was registered at the 2nd Police District of Santo André and the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) reported that the injured woman was rescued at the Mário Covas State Hospital, where she remained hospitalized, but there are no updates on her health status. The victims, who were in the vehicle hit, were identified as a 39-year-old man, a 40-year-old woman, and their two children, aged 4 and 7. The shooter was arrested in flagrante and the police believe that the traffic dispute was the reason for the shots fired at the car.
