A woman was arrested for impersonating a delegate during a robbery at a jewelry store in the Comércio neighborhood, in Belém (PA), on April 22. She surrendered on Tuesday (26/5) after a group of civil police identified the vehicle used in the crime and located the cell phone left inside the vehicle. The suspect, who was an employee of a cell phone operator store, participated in a robbery that took around R$ 500,000 in jewelry and had the owner of the establishment with a gun pointed at his head.

The robbery occurred when the group, armed and dressed in clothes similar to police uniforms, invaded the jewelry store and pretended to be in an official operation. The suspect forgot her phone inside the car used at the time of the crime, which contributed directly to the progress of the investigations and identification of those involved. According to the delegate Arthur do Rosário, head of the DRFR, the suspect had been the target of several police investigations and, with the investigative siege getting closer, she presented herself at the police station, accompanied by a lawyer, and confessed to participating in the crime.

The police reported that the group of robbers acted with simulation of authority, pretending to be police officers to intimidate the victims and gain an advantage in the robbery. The owner of the jewelry store had a gun pointed at his head during the robbery, which demonstrates the seriousness of the crime and the risk to the physical integrity of the people involved. The arrest of the suspect and the recovery of the money and jewelry taken are the result of the police’s investigative work.

The suspect is at the disposal of justice and may be charged with crimes such as robbery, false identity, and others that may be identified during the investigation. The case will continue to be investigated to identify other participants and clarify all details of the crime.
